We were justifiably proud when in November 2003, we were awarded the prestigeous Cask Marque Award. "When you take as much care as we do with our cask ales, it is pleasing to be recognised for it" said licensee Phil Mahoney. He is convinced that local brewers, big and small want to be associated with - and have their beers promoted through - pubs who take the selling of cask beers very seriously. For the past seven years Phil's policy of "try before you buy" on all his cask ales has proved very popular.
